LOSS & RELATIONSHIP BREAKDOWN

BEREAVEMENT, GRIEF AND LOSS

Bereavement of a loved one, partner, child, parent, sibling, relative, friend, colleague or pet will be the most heart wrenching and distressing experience we will ever face.

It can cause intense emotions, thoughts and feelings that overwhelm us and affect us in different ways, as we are all unique. Just when we think we know where our life is going, suddenly our lives are turned upside down and our hopes and dreams are shattered. Grief is a natural process but can be devastating and it will affect us all differently at different times.

When we lose a loved one, we have to cope and adjust to living in a world which is irreversibly changed and deal with painful emotions that can hit us at any moment.

After bereavement, life will never be the same, but with support and self care and a coming together, grief and pain could lessen, enabling us to cope and adapt to life and begin to find meaning again, but without forgetting their meaning to us.

Key aims of the session:

  • To remove isolation and the feeling of being alone

  • To understand the stages of grief and loss

  • To identify positive coping strategies

  • Provide a space and knowledge on how to cope or deal with the painful and horrendous emotions and feelings as they arise

  • To recognise our uniqueness, as well as understanding common connections that unite us in grief

  • To enable us to begin to move forward whilst being on the journey of grief and loss

RELATIONSHIP ENDINGS

When relationships come to an end it can be one of the most difficult times in our lives. It can flood us with extreme emotional and physical pain and it may seem impossible to find a way to ease the hurt and suffering. Endings come in a variety of ways; the ending of an intimate relationship, friendships and family members.

Not only have we lost that person physically, but suddenly our hopes, dreams, desires and plans for the future have changed. We may have lost our home, access to our children, financial stability, people attached to that relationship (i.e. other family members and friendships).

We at Evolving Mindset want you to recognise that you are not alone, the emotions, the hurt and pain is a normal reaction. We want to work together to guide and show you that even though relationships end and the feelings of anger, hurt, confusion and many more, will be overwhelming, it’s natural. We are going to give you the tools and knowledge to make this painful journey easier, so you can begin to see a future for you.

We are here to support you to recognise through self care and what you learn in the session, that you have the power within to take control of your resilience and strength, to help you move forward in a happier and healthier way.
